Package Delivery
How do you get your packages at EcoFlats?
Most of the time, delivery drivers do not have access to the interior of the building, yet they don't want to leave packages outside. So, how do you get your packages?
Oftentimes, they will knock on the door and if someone is available, they will bring the package to your doorstep. But when they don't have access to the interior of the building, it is up to the individual discretion of the driver when it comes to leaving packages at the building. Sometimes, if the driver feels that the neighborhood is safe enough, they'll leave the package at the front door, side door, or sometimes even in back of the building. But, if they don't want to leave the package outside, they'll leave a note for you on the door. What then?
When you receive a note from a delivery company, you'll often have the option to allow them to leave the package outside, re-direct it to another location, or other options. This cycle can become cumbersome, so I have some suggestions for you.
What I do is have my packages re-routed to the FedEx or UPS store. Oftentimes, you can re-direct packages while they are in transit. For FedEx, for example, just click on your tracking number and the FedEx website will have options for package delivery. It's a very easy process, and it's similar for UPS I think. For Amazon, you can even use the Amazon lockers to pick up your items at nearby locations. You can also have your packages sent to work, if you have that option available. And a final note is that you can have your packages sent via USPS. They will put the package in the parcel locker out front. Then they will put the parcel locker key in your mailbox so that you have access to it.
